The Jewellery, Eyewear and the Art industries is more of a hobby market for ID’s designers.

These arenas are respected by ID as areas where product design skills are valued extensively.

ID have only just started to revisit the fashion market with the lowering costs of Rapid Prototyping and Rapid Manufacture, enabling us to offer bespoke services for personal aesthetics and individuality.

Rapid Prototyping and manufacture is either used for mould manufacture using wax moulds that can be injected with precious metal but now, electro plating is available that can be applied to printed models created directly from the sintering/printing machines that exist today.

Companies such as Objet, HP and many more are leading the way in prototyping but smaller companies are now providing access to off machine parts with 10-20 micron accuracy.

ID can crate any shape of design that you may want to try and produce by this groundbreaking new manufacturing method.

The preliminary design concept specification for this project was to create a Swatch principle modular design for the sunglasses market.

Being innovative in 2000, a set of designs were created that had replicable modular frame components that would attract the youth market and enable then to change their eyewear depending on clothes

ID was approached by a wealthy husband to be, to design a ring for a specific diamond, recovered from an ancestral ring. ID designed a number of concepts which were prototyped via laser sintering and plated, before the final one was selected.
