ID can help by taking each product as an individual entity or alternatively design in consideration of a range where styling needs to be incorporated throughout a brand. Alternatively, functional differences could be achieved through mechanism/system design changes within a modular packaging solution which facilitates the ability to collate parts, utilise stock materials and economise with the tooling needed for production.
One of ID’s many competences is our ability to concurrently use industrial design experience with development engineering principles, in order to guarantee that style, user interfacing, ergonomics and aesthetics are considered in as high regards as the more functional aspects of the design.
Design for profitability is often concentrated on technology developments that are disruptive in targeted markets, change culture and maximise profit through improved functionality, however, the product will never meet full market potential if form is ignored.

Rukbug is a new concept of buggy for the more adventurous parent. An enjoyable project, ID was given the concept from an inventor with a thirst for product development. Having a clear idea of the way he wanted his product to work, but only developed to a mock up stage using pipe cleaners and cardboard, ID was given a white sheet specification in regards to styling and internal mechanical systems, not constrained by previous customer market research.

ID have worked extensively for Trumeter Technologies, accomplishing a number of projects
Buddy Personal Safety System was the first fully enabled blue tooth key fob which communicated with mobile phones as a safety alarm system. A project that was a project from early 2004/5, now surpassed by smart phone technology, Buddy possessed the WT11 Bluetooth module and vibration motor.
A project acquired through UMIC/UMIP (University of Manchester Incubation and Intellectual Property companies). This project was an invention that had already been through the feasibility and solution principle stage. ID was asked to create designs for progression to prototype and create a number of marketing tools for investor approach.

The following freelance projects were the ones that instigated ID to be created.
In early 1999, this project was the instigating and factor for the creation of ID.
A project for a far eastern manufacturer (whom we still deal with) in the era when the Compact disc was at the height of its product life!
This was probably our most non informative specification. Our customer requested a modular, space saving CD stand that looked modern in 1999.
Another early 1999 project, this project, MD Steven Bookbinder was approached by Optoplast (a leading supplier of glasses cases and glasses) in Maghull to look at diversification and create a series of cases for tradesmen to the new emerging mobile phone market. These were cases that had a specification of a 5m drop test and would protect a mobile phone, Psion and other similar devices.
Every product can be improved, whether taking advantage technology evolution or simple design techniques such as ergonomics, aesthetics or improving functionality, every product becomes outdated upon release as the next generations are already being worked upon. The secret is to know where to put your efforts.
ID have a broad experience in the consumer sector. As well as product development we also offer CG (computer graphics) and animations for marketing material, presentations, internet marketing, plans, reviews, packaging and more. Created using the knowledge acquired through market research, innovation strategies, 3D CAD models, computer renderings, and working prototypes taken from the initial development processes, we can aid other areas of your business.
